Jodie is a 18 year old singer from Basingstoke, Hampshire. Jodie is a very outgoing, socially popular individual who takes pride in all that she does with her main goal being achieving her dreams, and despite always being there for friends and making time for the people she cares for, she never forgets her goal or fails to impress people and continuously works towards her future by attending a range of dance classes, singing tuition, basic piano lessons and spends her (very limited) free time working with local rappers creating and writing new material. Jodie regularly performs live, having appeared with the likes of Kano, DJ Ironik, N-Dubz, DJ Luck and MC Neat centre stage at the recent ‘live music’ festival in Basingstoke and has recorded both cover versions and her own material- Jodie prefers to perform her ‘own stuff’ but will happily give her own version of covers when required. Local media interest includes radio- both Basingstoke and Reading, and regular mentions in the Regions major papers, either highlighting forthcoming appearances or an ever increasing amount of praise for performances given. Although Jodie’s undying ambition is to sing, Jodie has excellent dancing, choreography, acting and writing skills- many local artists such as The Author, XTC, Tempz and G2K have asked her to write record and perform live with them. Jodie studied at Brighton Hill Community College achieving 11 grade A*,A & B GCSE’s, and being a big sports fan at this time of her life she also achieved a Junior Sports Leadership Award, was the captain of the girls football team, competed in the athletics, netball and rounder’s team. However even though Jodie held most of her interests in sport, as she came to the end of her senior school life, she began to realise her love and drive for the performing arts world became a more important and preferred aspect in her life and therefore has furthered her education both academically and most importantly to Jodie, artistically, having vocal tuition, performing dance with CULT, JLD, On Your Toes and Crystal Dance School and commanding the Stage in both College productions and local drama groups, gaining leading roles in musicals such as Peter Pan, Chicago, Joseph and The Technicolor Dream Coat and productions such as Tess of the D’Urbervilles and Macbett. Jodie’s key influences are Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Ne-Yo, Usher and Amy Winehouse preferring a more ‘urban scene’ style of music listening to a range of genres from reggae, to soul to Indie, she has a natural affinity with people and was simply born to entertain; stepping up on the stage and offering her talent to the people in front of her being her forte.
