With his feet firmly placed in the roots of the music he adores, Summers constructs his narratives and melodies like the greats. Taking influence from the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Jeff Buckley his songwriting blends these artists ideals together to create an amalgamation of folk-rock heritage coupled with a vocal so wistfully engaging you'll feel you've been transported back to the very heart of singer songwriter royalty. Having established an interest in music at an early age Summers was quick to adorn the uniform of acoustic performer. Following a few hard working years doing the rounds as supporting musician to many projects and sampling the delights of Midlands living, it was his move to Cheltenham town and the development of his sound which has has led him to follow in the footsteps of, and share stages with some of his favourite artists, such as the legendary Steve Winwood on his recent European tour, Peter Doherty, Johnny Flynn, Frank Turner, Mumford and Sons, and Fyfe Dangerfield (Guillemots). Joe has also most recently supported Britpop group The Lightning Seeds. Joe continues to fill venues with people awaiting their opportunity to share in his effervescent personality and abosrb his charmingly wistful narrative about his life and loves. With a mini album, recorded with with Grammy nominated Producer James Towler (Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Robert Plant) out now and a book full of songs for the tours that follow, it has never been more imperative to see this man play live.
