Kate Jackson is a British singer formerly the lead-singer with The Long Blondes. She has been described in the NME as having the "arrogant strut of Chrissie Hynde and the acidic tongue of a Dickens heroine." When tragedy struck Long Blondes guitarist and the main songwriter Dorian Cox in the form of a stroke in 2008, it spelt the end of the band. That November Kate announced she was to go solo and began working with ex-Suede guitarist Bernard Butler on solo material.
