Katie Buckhaven is a female British singer-songwriter. She gained popularity after BBC Radio 2 DJ Michael Parkinson started to play her track "Lavender Eyes" on his influential Sunday morning show. Katie first picked up a guitar at the age of seven. Inspired by her parents' varied collection of country, jazz and folk records, she began to write her first songs. she was soon performing on a regular basis. Katie has supported Ben & Jason and Carina Round on the Acoustic Roadworks Tour, and has played with her band at numerous London venues. She has toured Europe, playing solo gigs in bars in Paris, Seville and Berlin, performing to audiences original songs and covers in French, Spanish and Italian. Katie is accompanied by a group of musicians from a variety of musical backgrounds. Together with her own style influenced by the French Chanson, they form a fusion of blues, folk and jazz with a Mediterranean edge. Listening to Katie, you may occasionally catch a strain of Tim Buckley, Joni Mitchell or Eva Cassidy. Her voice captures the warmth of Norah Jones and the bittersweet melancholy of Portishead's Beth Gibbon.
