DJ, promoter and producer originally from Croydon, South London, widely regarded as the man that brought Dubstep to Manchester via his seminal Bass Camp event which began in November 2004. Bass Camp gave artists such as Skream, Loefah, Sgt Pokes, N-Type, Rusko, Kromestar, Hijak, Pinch, Mungo's Hi-Fi and Truth amongst many others their debut Manchester bookings. Bass Camp alongside seminal Leeds event Exodus also hosted the UK's first showcase night for Mala from Digital Mystikz' label, Deep Medi Musik. Ken Evil began DJing Drum & Bass at free parties across the North of England in 1999 but really cut his teeth as part of D'n'B collective Rollin' Flava at parties across Madrid, Spain. On returning to the UK he started playing UK Garage in his sets, tracing the evolution of the sound into Grime, Breakstep and ultimately Dubstep. In 2006 he began featuring regularly on London's React FM alongside MC Point Blank and later went on to do a little presenting on the Drum Music show on Unity Radio in Manchester. His sets currently mash together elements of Dubstep with UK Funky and bass-heavy music across many genres. Alongside regular host of choice and Subsonik Records label boss Subliminal, Ken has played: Europe's biggest Dubstep event; the Outlook Festival in Croatia ('08/'09/'10/'11), Subdub in Leeds, Creamfields ('09, '10), regular slots at the Warehouse Project and holds residences at events such as Manchester's Religion, Drum Music and Ape where he played to a packed Manchester Apollo crowd of over 3000 people in Jan 2010.
