1) Kickback is a French band influenced by NY hardcore, metal and filled with urban rage. Their lyrics refer to nihilism, criminal hedonism and Marquis de Sade writings. They're famous for their hateful shows, full of anger and blood. Following the brothers’ emigration from rural South Dakota to Chicago, the group received acclaim from Rolling Stone’s Hype Monitor, Sound Opinion’s Jim Derogatis, numerous blogs including You Ain’t No Picasso and the Chicago Sun Times for their 2010 and 2011 EP releases, Great Self Love and Mea Culpa Mea Culpa. The band announced in July of 2012 that they would be recording their debut LP with producer Dennis Herring (Modest Mouse, Wavves, Elvis Costello) in Oxford, Mississippi.
