Kids Love Lies was an indie/pop band, formed in London, UK in 2007. The original lineup consisted of Ellen Murphy (vocals), Matty Saywell (guitar), Leigh Harrison (guitar), Claudia Mansaray (bass) and Raf Singer (drums). Will Jones replaced Raf Singer in January 2010. Their first signed release, Count In My Head, was released in April 2009 by Cherryade Records and was BBC Kent Introducing Single Of The Week, featured in Artrocker Magazine, recommended by music critic Everett True and was an NME Top Ten Track. The band's second single, Under The Bed, was released in October 2009, with a video that paid homage to 80s B-movies and David Lynch films. It was track of the day on The Times Online on 4 November 2009 and a Pick of the Month for Who's Jack Magazine in April 2009. Times Online said, "they're already delivering fine power pop that's packed full of clever lyrics and hooks - they're surely ones to watch". Altsounds said it was "brimming with a cacophony of relentless, frenetic guitars, an energetic bassline and crashing percussion, all topped off by Ellen Murphy’s Karen O-esque vocals". It was single of the month in Artrocker Magazine and Record Of The Week on the BBC Kent Introducing show. Shortly after the release of Under The Bed, founding drummer Raf Singer left the band in late 2009 and was replaced by Will Jones. Fellow founding member Claudia Mansaray also departed the band after a tour supporting the upcoming Stars EP. The EP was self-released in June 2010, with Artrocker calling the title track "hyperspeed indie rock with singer Ellen Murphy kung-fu kicking her way outta the speakers". The EP was launched at the Heavenly Social in Central London. Creative differences led to the band's split in July 2010, with singer Ellen Murphy turning solo and releasing music under the name OnlyGirl. Matt Saywell is a member of Radials and Will Jones is a session drummer.
