London based Luca Gulotta and Joe Erskine aka KillSonik rose like a phoenix from the ashes of dubstep behemoth Chasing Shadows. Signed exclusively to MTA Records in mid 2011, KillSonik opened their account with a ballsy remix of Nero’s “Crush On You.” The track had a world exclusive first play on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and well over a million YouTube views in the first week of upload alone. Luca and Joe rolled out their first heinous tracks mid 2009 on Hench, most notably “Dr Sin”, “The End”, “ill” and “Amirah.” All were received exceptionally well amongst the big hitters in the bass music scene – Skream, Plastician, Pendulum, Chase & Status, Mary Anne Hobbs and a slew of others. They then turned their creative hand to Damien Marley’s “It was written” and between two uploads of the track they promptly received over 10 million views on YouTube. Their particular brand of nasty dubstep hasn’t gone unnoticed by Hollywood – with cinematic power piece “Odyssey” being used in the biggest budget movie of the year – Universal Pictures mighty “Battleship” and their tune with Foreign Beggars 'Typhoon' was used in the recent remake of 'Total Recall'. KillSonik followed up by writing tracks for the “Forza 4” racing computer game on Xbox and having a track feature on the hugely successful CSI Miami television series. Their first orignal release featured two very different tracks. The title track 'Bloodlust' was dark and aggressive and the b side 'Girly' was a futuristic homage to garage, both tunes picked up plays from radio ones DJ's Zane Lowe, Skream and Benga. The stage was then set for KillSonik to support fully established MTA label mates Nero on their Second Reality live tour in March 2012. KillSonik continue to go from strength to strength appearing at shows in Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Canada and numerous other countries world wide as well as having just completed a monster remix for label owners Chase & Status’s “Flashing Lights”. Late 2012 has seen them complete a run of heavy hitting remixes including Calvin Harris and Example's chart topper 'We'll Be Coming Back' and Linkin Park's second single of their album 'Living things' ; 'Lost In The Echo' which obtained high status on Youtube. Most recently their remix of Sub Focus's 'Tidal Wave' was picked by Zane Lowe as his hottest record in the world.
