Djeli Moussa Diawara - vocals and kora, Abdoulaye Diabaté - piano, Moussa Cissoko - drums. Kora Jazz Trio is the encounter between mandinga musical tradition and the freedom of jazz, between West African percussion and Afro-American swing. Their two albums, released through concerts all over the world, gained admiration and praise from the jazz connoisseurs: "a delightful alchemy"; "a refreshing miracle"; "a skilful encounter of the brilliant free swing of Kora instrument with the refinement of Diabaté`s piano". The second album obviously builds a bridge between Western jazz and African jazz. Its compositions sound as intense in some African suburbs as in a Western metropolis. Kora Jazz Trio doesn`t want to make its music pass for missionary ambitions, nor create a musical revolution. It simply conveys the joy of freely playing common songs and rhythms, engaging in a generous cultural dialogue.
