Although Tenten and Yuma played both before in the well known indies band Hanamuke (disbanded in 2003), KuRt surely isn’t its successor. Still, this doesn’t mean that KuRt wouldn’t be on the avenue to fame. The band has been barely existing since 1,5 years but they have already many fans.
KuRt is founded in November 2004 by Tenten (Vo, ex-Hanamuke), Yuma (Gt, ex-Hanamuke), Ryouki (Gt, ex-Visage), Ranmaru (Ba, ex-Misora) and Kiaki (ex-Misora).
In December the five guys instantly kick of with different secret lives before they announce the founding of the band publicly in January 2005. Many magazines write about them. At that time Ranmaru changes his name and he becomes Oto.
On 21st January their first single Oritatamishiki Ojiichan is released. They limit it to 2000 samples. But this single is no reason at all for KuRt to become lazy. During the first half of 2001 they also release the DVD Gozen 3Ji Hoshi Furu Yoru, which contains the PV of the song of the same name, their first Album Junketsu sengishiri metsuretsu and a live-DVD.
During the second half of that year the releases don’t cease either: KuRt releases three maxi singles and a DVD which contains four PVs. However, the fans can’t be really happy at the end of the year: Tenten announces during the concert on 12th December at the Shibuya O-East that Oto is going to leave the band.
2006 starts with Oto’s leave and the release of a “memorial album” called NEIGHBORHOOD NUMBER. Its release date is 22nd February and they recorded it still with Oto on the bass.
On 8th March KuRt announces during a concert that Saburo (ex-GIFT) will take Oto’s place in the band. KuRt’s concert schedule is less tight than during the last year but soon the fans know why: They announce the release of six singles in collaboration with the Visual Kei magazine SHOXX under the title THEE SPIDER EFFECT. From July on they release each month one single, each of them limited to 2000 copies which can be obtained only through mail order and in certain shops. Everything seems to be going fine – KuRt even hold their first concerts abroad on September 15th and 16th in Seoul, Korea – but good things never last forever. During their Christmas oneman on December 24th, Tenten announces to all the fans surprise that he’s going to leave KuRt after this concert. The next day the news is officially announced on their website. He apologises to the fans saying that he can’t continue since everything he does is fake and gives him the feeling of being a liar and poser.
At the beginning of 2007 the rest of the band announces their disbanding set after their last concert on February 11th which is going to be hold without Tenten. Neither they engage a support vocalist since the reason for their disbanding is that all of them can’t imagine to continue KuRt without Tenten. On March 14th KuRt releases their last album which is a compilation of all the singles of THEE SPIDER EFFECT and three new PVs. Naturally the album is named THEE SPIDER EFFECT BEST and also limited to 2000 copies.
