There have been at least two bands named Laughing Gravy. The one available for streaming on last.fm is a unique band that plays an eclectic mix of original roots based music. It is impossible to pigeonhole them -and they like it that way! By combining a wide array of musical styles, they have managed to create a new form of music that continues to delight and entertain people wherever they play. Musically, they are brilliantly anarchic, totally unexpected and universally entertaining. Their eccentric mix of musical theatre takes in blues-rock, country ballad, rogue jazz, bluegrass, folk and more. Scorched vocals are backed by National Steel/acoustic guitar, jaw dropping pyrotechnics on acoustic/electric banjo, killer upright bass hooks, and the coolest of cool grooves on drums. Individually they are four multi-talented, professional composers, musicians and performers with many credits to their names. Together they sound unlike anything you've heard before! The other band named Laughing Gravy was a studio act featuring Dean Torrence of Jan And Dean, which released one single, a cover of the Brian Wilson/Van Dyke Parks song Vegetables in 1967.
