Born in Wales to Irish parents, and currently living in London. Not to be confused with the American bluegrass mandolin-playing Lorraine Jordan. Lorraine Jordan's music is rightly described as Celtic Soul. She takes the influences of her Irish roots and love of traditional ballads and combines them with contemporary musical influences to create an intoxicating and thought provoking set of original songs, driven by powerful silk wrapped vocals. Lorraine has released 4 CDs to much critical acclaim. She performs both solo and with her line-up. She is a highly accomplished solo performer, accompanying herself on guitar and bouzouki. Musicians who have played in Lorraine’s band and on her previous releases have included Niall O’Callanain (Deisal), Jimmy Faulkner, John Whelan, Tony McManus, Steafan Hannigan, Neil Davey (Anam), Pete Garnet (Moishe’s Bagel) among a host of other very fine instrumentalists. She has recorded 3 previous albums all to much critical acclaim and is considered by many to be one of the finest and most talented singer songwriters in Britain today. Lorraine has shared stages with many well known names including Richard Thompson, Loudon Wainwright, the Waterboys and Dick Gaughan. She has toured extensively in Germany, Italy, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Scandinavia, Ireland and Scotland, and has a growing audience in Australia and the USA following her recent tours there. Cultural Collaboration From 2003-2006 Lorraine toured Australia and Europe with Planet Woman – a cultural collaboration which which brought together five female musicians from both sides of the globe, sharing Celtic and Maori traditions. They recorded an EP in 2004 entitled “From Celtic Roots to Oceanic Soul”, and released the album "Reeling In The Pacific" in 2005.
