Maaike Siegerist is a Dutch singer-songwriter inspired by jazz, Latin American classics, and R&B. Her music has been described as "Joni Mitchell meets Julie London." Maaike’s first single, Half a World Away, was released on 9 February 2014 on EM Records. She co-wrote the song with Robert Maitland, a Scottish songwriter, at the UK Songwriting Festival in the summer of 2013. It is reminiscent of old jazz, a musical genre they both love.
