There is more than one band or artist named Madcap.
1. Madcap (UK) – Drum&Bass, Jungle DJ / Producer / Remixer
Madcap (Elliot Payne) started DJing in the early 90's. Son of a Rock N' Roll Musician Father & Piano teaching Mother, he was exposed to music from a very young age. Being so young was a stumbling block at first, but this changed in the summer of '95 when securing a job at local record shop Buzz Records, High Wycombe. This was associated with DJ Pulse and the influential Creative Wax label. Meeting with punters and promoters alike, Madcap soon found himself being booked up & down the UK for sets, including the infamous Sanctuary in Milton Keynes.
One particular highlight of his DJing career so far was winning the Movement / Technics DJ Competition in 2002 at The End Night-club, as featured in DJ Magazine, this resulted in several bookings for Movement at London's Bar Rumba & across the Capital. Other notable features on Madcap is his appearance in The West Country's IDJ Magazine January 2004 after winning "Mix Tape of the Month" The competitions certainly helped and has continued to get him bookings throughout the UK. Madcap has had several long term residencies in Oxford, London, Aylesbury & now Birmingham (Liquid Sessions).
Over the years Madcap has had the pleasure of being invited for guest slots at events across the country including London, Edinburgh, Bristol, Leicester, Birmingham, Oxford & Exmouth to name a few.
Madcap has enjoyed promoting events in local towns Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Maidenhead & London. Booking artists such as Goldie, Randall, Nookie, Break, Doc Scott, D-Bridge etc etc.
In the last few years Madcap has been very busy in the studio and is currently working with old friend DJ Pulse co-running Creative Wax Recordings. His remix of Tango's 'Understand' b/w Furney's Re-Edit of Spellbound was released at the end of 2013 on limited edition Vinyl.
Other recent studio projects include releases on Good Looking Records, Phuzion, Step Back Sessions, Criminal Records & working with artists such as Furney (GLR), Andy Skopes (V Recordings), Jaybee (Mac II), Vinyl Junkie (Warehouse Wax) & Tango (Moving Shadow, Steel Fingers). He has just completed remixes for LTJ Bukem, Nookie / Cloud 9, Tom & Jerry.
Madcap has been interviewed on several different radio shows including Ministry Of Sound & also had his tracks played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio, 1Xtra by B.Traits, Friction, Fabio, Grooverider, Randall, Bailey & LTJ Bukem.
2013 also saw him debut at London’s Fabric ‘Bukem In Session’ which included a promo mix featured on the clubs website.
Signing music to various labels led to regular abroad bookings include Amsterdam, Arnhem, Poland, Lithuania & Portugal & Corfu.
2014 will see a mini tour to promote Phuzion Records CD release ‘Atmosphere Chapter 5’ (Compiled by Nookie, Mixed By Madcap) with Prague, Poland, Estonia on the agenda & more dates TBC.
All of this brings us to the present time with Madcap, getting regular bookings and pushing himself to the fullest of his abilities.
2. Madcap [Belgrade, Serbia] - a progressive-rock band from Serbian capitol.
Line-up: Srdjan Milosevic [guitar, vocal], Mladen Marijanovic [guitar], Milos Drobnjakovic [bass], Mile Orlovic [percussions, vocal] and Bruno Dimic [drums]. See more at: www.myspace.com/madcapbelgrade
3. A Danish prog-rock band
4. MadCap, a german MC and HipHop artist
5. US punk band: Home is where the heart is, and for Madcap, that isn't a house, an apartment or even their tour van - it is in the meaning they derive from writing and recording music, as well in listening to the artists they love. Honesty, passion, faith and persistence are the cornerstones of Madcap's philosophy, and they show an amazing ability to instill those beliefs in songs about love, rebellion, and personal struggle. Madcap began playing punk rock in the style of their idols in bands like The Jam, Buzzcocks and the Clash, but as they have grown, they began incorporating ideas drawn from studying the music of rock artists like Elvis Costello, Bruce Springsteen and U2.
