Marques Toliver was born in Tallahassee Florida on March 28, 1987, but moved to Daytona Beach at a young age. His first impressionable musical influence began as a young boy mimicking the deep southern style of singing he came in contact with. As the years progressed he would be introduced to the violin and later receive formal training that would allow him to continue acquiring musical knowledge in college. Marques' sound encompasses aspects of the urban world, classical, and also philosophical thought, bringing forth the music in which you hear. His songs correlate to human awareness and existence with a humor evoked spirit to them. Picking up the guitar in winter of 2005 his list of instruments include violin, voice, guitar, and piano. It is his wish that his craft will enable others to become more aware of themselves and the beauty of the things around them. Marques Toliver has played on records for Brooklyn Artists such as Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Holly Miranda, Grizzly Bear, Scott Matthew and TV On The Radio.
