Melic are a four-piece rock band based in London. Their sound is derived from an eclectic blend of musicians - fusing a metal drummer and funk-rock bassist, with a classically trained pianist/saxophonist and a singer/song-writer guitarist. The group formed late 2008 and have since recorded two independently released EPs and launched ‘melicband.com’. Melic have been busy performing at many notable venues around London including The 100 Club, The Borderline, Scala, Cargo, The Grand, Barfly, Punk and many more . The 2010 four track EP titled "The Coal Pit Sessions" received a five star rating from Alter the Press writer, Dan Issitt. In the summer of 2012 the band toured New Zealand to critical aclaim and returned to the UK to play numerous dates during the London Olympics. Melic resumed their studio recording in October 2012 and finished their debut album 'An Hour to Anywhere' in mid 2013. Twelve very different tracks that highlight Melic’s versatility whilst maintaining a cohesive thread throughout the album from start to finish.
