http://solrr.org/ Colorado based producer Thomas Smith, aka (Mezla), is one of the first additions to the First-Caste Family. His devotion to the electronic scene inspired him to start producing his own music were the sounds of his environment were clearly influential in the tracks of his past and for those soon to come. He has been a strong figure in the Colorado scene and has been a mentor to many up and coming producers. After listening to the EP Sunny Spells, it was very clear how he wanted to introduce his music to the world. When asked about the thought process behind the EP he had this to say: “Sunny Spells is a collection of tracks I’ve made over the last few years that reflect the idea of how the Brits say ‘partly cloudy’ when forecasting the weather. It is a sort of throwback for me to the time when I lived in England and had a chance to absorb the healthy electronic music scene there. Realizing the extraordinary pace at which electronic music evolves by experiencing both detonation of dubstep in the UK and its delayed uptake across the pond, I tried to create something that will prove to be timeless.”
