In 2010 Mia Dora was born and they set about developing a sound, drawing on house, techno, hip hop and garage, brimming with energy, emotion and sounding like nobody else. Before long UK hip hop powerhouse Big Dada came looking for a remix for ‘Get The Get’, the lead single from Roots Manuva’s album 4EVEREVOLUTION. Their version was held up as one of the tracks of 2012, making massive fans of radio DJs like Mary Anne Hobbs, Giles Peterson, Rob Da Bank and Mash, with constant plays on BBC Radio 1, XFM and Capitol Radio. Support continued to flood in with Mixmag and DJ Magazine getting behind them, declaring Mia Dora as one of the main artists to watch in the near future. 2012 into 2013 has seen a steady stream of releases and remixes including their debut ‘Romanticise’ EP, a 4 track slice of club jamming house, released on Glasgow’s fresh faced High Sheen label. Following on was their much lauded ‘Occam’s Razor’ EP for Moda Black, their big room techno slammer ‘Ill-defined’, again for High Sheen, and remixes of Romanthony, MASH and Grum, that all have all made fans out of some of the biggest names out there. Much anticipated follow up EPs for Moda Black are set to secure their status as one of the most exciting production outfits to recently emerge from UK.
