Michele Stodart is a Trinidad-born English singer-songwriter, best known as the bassist and vocalist in UK folk-pop band The Magic Numbers, in which she performs alongside older brother Romeo. The Stodarts are the children of a Scottish father and a Portuguese mother and were born in Trinidad in the Caribbean, where their mother was an opera singer and had her own TV show. When the family fled an Islamic coup attempt there in 1990, they were raised in New York. In the mid-1990s, when Romeo was 16 and Michele was 10, they moved to London. They formed The Magic Numbers with Angela and Sean Gannon in Ealing, United Kingdom in 2002. With The Magic Numbers, Stodart has released three albums - The Magic Numbers (2005), Those the Brokes (2006) and The Runaway (2010). With the Magic Numbers on a break following the release of The Runaway, Stodart began performing solo in 2011. In 2012, Stodart released her debut solo album, entitled Wide-Eyed Crossing.
