MIDIMIDIS represent a strikingly fresh surge of creativity orchestrated in 8-bit by two brothers-in-law. Two brothers who enjoy spending time in their bedrooms experimenting with retro midi sounds in 8-bit on their old dusty unreliable laptop, an AMSTRAD CPC 464, one GAMEBOY, a ZX SPECTRUM, one GAMEGEAR and two scuzzy broken guitars. From an early age, the two have embraced everything from Gary Numan and Bauhaus to Nirvana, The Velvet Underground, and Television. MIDIMIDIS create their minimalist fuzzy-buzzy 8-bit music by meticulously weaving the harsh feedback-heavy guitars of Sonic Youth together with the sharp angular work of Talking Heads, Kraftwerk and Human League. To coincide with their DIY punk ethic, the two often of play guerrilla gigs at house parties and in random locations using their (rather battered) PSP, a mega-phone and 2 guitars. However, when it comes to recording, the MIDIMIDIS choose to record all of their guitars, bass and vocals on an analogue reel-to-reel 8-track whilst mixing the entire midi samples and overall sound digitally. MIDIMIDIS' debut demo: 'note-to-self' was released by the lads worldwide on iTUNES on 25th February 2008 with physical hand-made copies available but limited initially to just 100 now SOLD OUT copies. Following their release of debut 'note-to-self,' PSW (PlayStation World) Magazine gave MIDIMIDIS their first national feature in April making them the FIRST DIY band EVER to be featured in a games magazine. MIDIMIDIS also achieved the highest ever winning score on BBC Berkshire's LINDA SERCK’s 'The Session' demo panel and have since had airplay on XFM, BBC RADIO 1 by HUW STEPHENS, and BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC by TOM ROBINSON. The two brothers-in-law are currently in the studio recording new tracks for the release of a full-length EP entitled 'Mayuko' for early 2009. 'Mayuko' will include tracks produced by MR FOGG and TOM BELLAMY (LOSERS/ RHYSMIX/ ex-COOPER TEMPLE CLAUSE) as well as an exclusive remix of 'nemesis'.
