Mike TV are a pop-punk group formed in 1999 under the name Pickled Dick by Domb Harper, Jhon Cosgrove and Lars Jackson. Several line-up changes have occured since the band's formation with Marky joining on drums in 2004, then being replaced by Nick Reynolds in 2006. The Current line-up consists of Domb Harper on bass and lead vocals, Jhon Cosgrove on guitar, Richie Cooper on guitar and Glynn Mellor on drums.
The band are known for their melodic Green Day inspired instrumental as well as catchy chorus' featuring 4-part harmonies from each band member.
Mike TV were reborn again in 2008 after spending several years languishing under the phallic pseudonym of Pickled Dick. The band set out to inform the world of their new found pop sensibilities. That first year saw the quirky quartet, adding Rich Bushby (ex-Blame It On Edd / Mr. Kamikaze) as lead guitarist, release a new 13 track Self-titled CD and tour with such bands as Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer, Army Of Freshmen, Useless ID, The Dickies, Random Hand and Guttermouth as well as performing alongside stalwarts of the UK punk rock scene – The King Blues and Sonic Boom Six.
2009 has already seen Mike TV headline the last ever show at London Astoria 2 and top the bill at the renowned Camden Underworld. In March the single 'LIE LOW, LILO' was released via Banquet Records in the U.K as a download/limited CD along with a brand new music video and and extensive headline U.K tour taking in such towns as Norwich and Weston-Super-Mare. Mike TV then followed this up with a 20 date trek through China, including playing at China's biggest Festival - MIDI FESTIVAL and climbing up a massive wall. This summer will see them supporting CJ Ramone and Fat Wreck band The Flatliners.
Their self-titled album produced and recorded by underground super-producer Peter Miles (The King Blues / Sonic Boom Six / Captain Everything!) is out now in the UK on Banquet Records and Hotpot Music in China. It is soon to be released in Japan via Thistime Records.
Drummer Riff Reynolds left the band to join All Or Nothing in the summer of 2009. He was replaced by Glyn Mellor (Formerly of Blast Stereos Loud). In December 2009 they released the 'Stopgap EP' online free of charge.
In 2010, they released a split 7" with pop-punk band, Corrigan. This was followed by a free online release of the single 'Pepe's Dead' in early 2011. In August 2011, Bushby played his last show with Mike TV in Bristol. He has performed with Jhon and Domb since. In early 2012, the band announced Ben Hayes (The Remnants) would be joining on lead guitar with plans to demo tracks for a new album and tour later in the year, however Mike TV announced his departure in 2013 with Richie Cooper joining the fold. In April 2013 the band released a charity single entitled 'Kelsey' as a tribute to Domb & Jhon's friend, Steven Kelsey, who died as the result of a brain tumor. Mike TV will enter the studio in January 2014 to record their currently untitled 2nd album with Peter Miles producing.
