Minque was an independent alternative rock band from Toronto, Canada. Formed in 2002 by North Bay, Ontario native Luke Martin, joined by guitarist Alex Marlin, Minque evolved through several lineup changes, finally defining the band's sound and repertoire before disbanding in 2008. Charismatic and introspective, Minque’s unique musical formula blended bright pop simplicity with a darker, deeper sophistication, citing influences from The Smiths and The Cure, to Jeff Buckley and Iggy Pop. Minque frequently performed in many of Toronto's most popular live music venues, and the band independently produced and released two original recordings, “Lady Star” in 2003, and “Halogen” in 2005. In 2006, Minque released a series of live-off-the-floor tracks through IndieCan Music online.
