Miss Melody has music in her blood. Born in Spain, where her father owns a club in Benidorm, she is raised with music. Already at eighteen she was helping in her father's club, playing music in Benidorm. During the summer, when organisers of major festivals flocked to the sunny coastline, she soon became well-known throughout the whole of Spain. Melody soon played clubs such as the Palladium, the Ministry of Sound, Privilege and Ku.
n 1997 her father parted with the Benidorm club for a life in the Netherlands. At the time, Melody was studying law in Spain but found herself drawn to the magnificent career of a DJ. She played many of the hot spots, for instance Splash in Madrid, for an audience of 12,000 people.
Not much later Miss Melody gave up her life in Spain to take up the challenge of taking over her fathers beachclub in Scheveningen, and built it up from scratch. Salinas, as the beachclub was now called, soon drew in the crowds and for seven years, Miss Melody managed the big-scale parties held at this location.
Salinas was celebrated mostly for its parties on Sundays: Salinas Sundance went on from ten in the morning until late at night. Miss Melody had already spotted this trend in Spain and successfully introduced it in the Netherlands. In the beginning, the Sunday event drew an crowd of 400, but it did not take long before 2,500 partypeople attended the parties. Her other parties, “Salinas on the beach” and “Salinas on Tour” with crowds of 5.000 partypeople, also proved to be a great success.
In Spain, Miss Melody’s musical style was techno and trance mostly, but in the Netherlands Melody opted for the dance style that lay closer to her heart - groovy techno. And judging from the feedback, it was clearly this spirited music which most pleased the thousands of revellers who flocked to her gigs. Soon, she was being booked by the organisers of major events like Crazyland, Lunapark, Trance Life, Impulz, Wasteland, Free Festival and the Fast Forward Dance Parade.
In the meantime Miss Melody is still much in demand in Spain, with regular monthly bookings. Not to mention Miami, Mexico, Egypt and Japan, where her particular style of sound is also making inroads. In 2000, after setting up her own production company, Melody's productions gained a foothold in the national and international market. She co-operates with the likes of Raúl Cremona, Abel Ramos and Randy Kanta with whom she co-produces the 2004 hit “In Silence”, inspired by herself. In 2006 she herself produces the track “Salinas 2006”. It soon reaches the number one position and holds this position for three weeks in both Spain and the Netherlands. In 2007 she produces the tech-bomb “United By Sound” with Dutch producer Melvin Warning. The track is officially released early October 2007 and has proven its potential on the dancefloors during the couple of months before already. The track is supported by dj’s like Armin van Buuren, Marco V and Ferry Corsten.
Miss Melody is very hard to please and therefore spends a lot of time selecting her music. She will travel far and wide to find the exact music she is looking for. Her own brand of music is particularly unique: a stirring beat, a good composition and an original sound. Adding to the enchantment is her stylish appearance, which has helped Miss Melody build up a magical bond with her audiences and she can therefore count on a big fanbase.
