”Tropical Birds” is Montag Mania:s second album, released 26 of january 2013, a futuristic, ambient dance record with elements of tropicalia and afrobeat. The music was written during creative recording sessions in Kreuzberg, Berlin, in Stockholm and in Tornedalen in the north of Sweden. The album contains elements from many different times and places, a musical journey, some lucky mistakes, some magic, euforic moments recorded and captured on tape The releaseparty and club ”Tropical Birds Party” featuring Montag Mania, Faunafest and Candyland at Kägelbanan, Stockholm became a huge success, a collaboration in art, sound and light. With 450 people attending and a lot of fantastic respons did Tropical Birds get 5 stars of 6 at the music magazine Gaffa with link: www.gaffa.se/recension/69014 and the first single Into the Highlife became number 1 at Swedish Collegeradio toplist. The album did also take a spot in Claes Olson’s Best Right Now list over at musikindustrin and the New York based blog ‘Joy Of Violent Movement’ has described ‘Tropical Birds’ as a warm and playful mix of indierock, dance music and tropicalia. The band are now back in Sweden after touring in Denmark and Russia to continue their summer tour 2013 in Sweden and to end up the summer at - Kulturfestivalen /We are Stockholm - the 13 of august. The album got really good reviews in ”Dagens Nyheter” and Eskilstuna-Kuriren among others. The release was followed by intense touring and as warm up act for Daniel Lanois and Amparanoia in Stockholm.
