Neon Saturdays was established in February 2012 in Rīga, Latvia by four members who had had a prior experience in making music by learning various music instruments at the music school and also participating in other projects. The band represents a music genre that could be described as positive rock which is influenced by indie music, pop rock and alternative genres as well as artists such as Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Green Day, U2, The Killers, Placebo, 30 Seconds to Mars and many more. During the first half-year of activity the band started the work on their debute album (to be released in September 2013) by recording three singles - Sometimes, Tomorrow, and Awake - of which the single Tomorrow what was released together with a music video got into rotation also on Lithuanian music channels, but Awake reached number 2 in the local Latvian alternative music chart. Apart from the work with the recordings, in 2012 the band also gave several performances including concert at the central annual student party Studentu Paradīze at Arena Riga, main Latvian new music and art festival Bildes and a tour in Lithuania. Right now the band is working on their new single to be released in spring 2013. The band's name Neon Saturdays comes from the members' wish to describe the feelings of living, working, hanging out in the city environment full of sounds, noises, lights and happenings, emotions experienced during the time spent together with special people, nostalgy taking over in the holiday mornings after amazing and saturated evenings - all those moments when the band`s music gets written and the lifestyle influencing it. Neon Saturdays, while using the classic rock music instruments, are also experimenting with various studio and synth effects, while at the same time paying attention to the compositions structure and melody. The bands lyrics are about different human emotions, feelings and phylosophical aspects that take over us, looking at the population and people from another point of view and judging their movement as well as the ideas of living better, not being afraid and maybe even ignoring the stereotypes of humanity. http://www.neonsaturdays.com
