Obi have a cult following and have been very popular in the UK with numerous tours, and band supports. They also played Glastonbury 2003 to great acclaim in the accoustic tent. Having been quoted as been a cross between Coldplay and Beck, Obi are actually much more than that and have crafted their own unique style. The travel-friendly happy melodies of Magic Land have been followed by the Tim Burton-esque fairground soundtrack that is Diceman Lopez. Obi currently appears to be on hiatus, with frontman Damian Katkhuda forming another band with film composer and music producer Damian Montagu. 2) Tobias Lüke, aka Obi, was born in 1982 in Greven, Germany.
