There are at least 3 bands called Odd Man Out. Odd Man Out began in Olympia, WA in 2008 with the intention of demonstrating that the straight edge was very much alive in the small city. A demo was recorded to be distributed in secret to the local record shops Phantom City Records and Rainy Day. Fast forward to 2014 and the band has a lineup and tours to Mexico, the east coast and the west coast under their belts with bands like Protester, Power, Angel Du$t, Gag and Big Bite as well as a self released demo cassette, self titled 7" and CCHC cassette. Determined to preserve the anonymity of the band Odd Man Out credits themselves as simply, 'the straight edge', often shares edge members with other bands to complete a lineup and makes releases on their own or through independent labels run by friends such as WarthogSpeak, Pop Wig and UXO. The newest release, Capital City Hardcore, is a testament to the bands fierce attitude toward hardcore and the straight edge; six new songs focused on ferocity and the more extreme side of hardcore. Secondly: Odd Man Out was a skate rock band active from 1987-1989, featuring pro skater Steve Caballero in the lineup. They were best known for their appearance on the soundtrack for the 1988 Powell Peralta skate video, Public Domain. Odd Man Out released only one self-titled LP/cassette in 1988 on Beware Records. In 2002, Sessions Records released a compilation of Steve Caballero's work called "Bandology Vol. 1" with 4 Odd Man Out tracks included. This was the first and so far only appearance of the band on CD. The members include Matthew and Michael Huber, Louis Johnson and Kyle Krakow and have been a band since 2001. They have many albums out, their most recent being Self Destructive Puppets Take Control, which you cant find it stores anywhere. Sorry kids.
