Petrichor

Petrichor is a doom metal group from Leeds. The name is also used by other acts, but this project is the music of Reuben Eves. Eves grows up in Bath and later studies photography in Edinburgh, while also working across different creative mediums.

The music takes an experimental approach and uses unconventional song structures. Its subject matter includes mental health, including severe OCD, relationships, and social and political commentary. The sound is dark, with bass-heavy synthesisers, eerie string sounds and spacious reverb.

Eves begins making music without prior experience of instruments or music theory, and relies on his ear and creativity to produce, mix and master the songs himself.
