Picture Parlour will release their first, and eagerly anticipated, single Norwegian Wood on June 19 through Buzzcity. Recorded one Spring morning in RAK Studio 2 by Steph Marziano and mixed by Alan Moulder, the song is an unvarnished confession to a loved one, inspired by Haruki Murakami’s novel ‘Norwegian Wood’ and its relationship with the infamous Beatles track. Written by Parlour in solitude, the track is a self-reflective declaration of her inner workings. Once all had been laid bare, the band embraced the track’s vulnerability and transformed it into an ambitious sounding debut single. Norwegian Wood is riddled with cartwheeling riffs, blues rock bass lines and roaring vocals that nod to classic glam rock. Picture Parlour make a statement with their fusion of stadium rock and melancholic euphoria, capturing sounds that are itching to take up space.
