Pocket Apocalypse are aLiverpool-based Alternative Rock band. Drawing on Post-Rock, Math-Rock and Progressive influences, the band craft a huge sound which has led to many prestigious support slots in some of the best venues in Liverpool and across the country. The band formed in 2008 after bassist Leandro Cuzzocrea joined Rik Davnall, Chris Caterall and Nick Jones. They won the Liverpool University Battle of the Bands in 2009 and in 2010, the band recorded the independent 5 track EP "Burn to Grace" at Orange Sound Studios in Penmaenmawr, North Wales over the course of five days. In 2011, their song Moment In The Sun, was selected for a special compilation by NewPath which showcased the best alternative and experimental music in the UK and they also played at the NewPath Festival that Summer. Although the band suffered a setback when Rik left the band in 2012, his powerhouse replacement Phil Dunn has added another dynamic layer to the band's sound. Their impressive live show has seen them share stages with the likes of MinionTv, Cleft, The Tone Puppets, Book Thieves, Xander and the Peace Pirates, Half Cut Harry, Sick Circus, Built on Tradition, Jets at Dawn, Jeramiah Ferrari and many more. The band also earned a slot at the prestigious Liverpool Sound City Festival in May 2013 and their long-awaited debut album is due out in early 2014. "Pocket Apocalypse, who have successfully hailed from the student music scene, perform a special mix of instrumental rock, which was met with rapture from the audience" Peter Guy, Liverpool Echo. "...Pocket Apocalypse's gravitational pull imploded like a dark star, bursting into phosphorescent flare, lighting up night sky with shower of photons from ancient constellations..." Mudkiss Magazine at Liverpool Sound City, 2013.
