Their second LP, Wheel Inside A Wheel, was recorded and co-produced with Marco Migliari in The Wood Room at Real World Studios. It was released and launched on October 5th 2012 at Sound Knowledge record store, Marlborough, Wiltshire, followed by extensive UK touring. The band enjoyed airplay of album tracks on BBC Introducing In The West and BBC 6 Music as well as local and global acclaim.
In May 2013 Port Erin recorded their follow up EP Threee. It was again recorded and co-produced with Marco Migliari at Real World Studios. Threee was released and launched on Saturday 29th June 2013 at the band's Glastonbury Festival 2013 performance at The Avalon Cafe, Field of Avalon.
2013 has seen the band record over 60 hours of improvised music. The jamming sessions have been whittled down to 17 songs which is being shaped as the backbone for their third LP. Port Erin will be touring this new material sporadically during this Autumn and Winter.
Port Erin are a band the simply won't be constrained by genre or style, their music speaks for itself. Drawing on influences such as Talking Heads, XTC, Syd Arthur, Talk Talk, Cowtown and Elbow the band's relentless touring and recording is beginning to make an impact in the West Country and beyond.
" Port Erin are a perfectly weighted three-piece dispensing precision rock full of space and dynamics with liquid, ringing guitar, fat authoritative bass a superb drummer delivering delicious hi-hat. " Venue Mag
'' South West England based trio Port Erin’s second album is something of a minor masterpiece of Alt Folk that combines finely turned guitars alternating between accomplished songwriting and laid back summery grooves, an album that’s justly gaining a lot of attention since its release in November. ''
