Originating from the North Wales/Shropshire countryside, Portlights produce masterful alternative indie anthems, and are known for their love of big guitar sounds and bigger drums. These four good friends combine vocals reminiscent of David Bowie and Black Francis of Pixies fame; with the soulful instrumentation of early Radiohead and uplifting choruses taken from influences such as Arcade Fire, The Joy Formidable and Two Door Cinema Club. Described as having "some of the most incredible guitar sounds known to mankind" by the Wrexham Leader. Supported artists such as Miles Kane, The Automatic, The Boxer Rebellion, The Chapman Family, The Rifles, and performed at festivals such as: BBC Big Weekend Fringe, Ozfest and What Fest. Have had a Radio 1 interview and plays with Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw, BBC Radio Live Sessions and plays and features on BBC Wales and BBC Shropshire. David Schwarz, the frontman of the band was also recently invited to and went to Abbey Road and Maida Vale studios in London as part of the BBC Introducing Musician's Masterclass.
