Press To Meco is: Adam Roffey, Lewis Williams and Luke Caley. Press To Meco (me-co) have had an incredibly productive twelve months since the release of their self-titled debut EP, playing in excess of 65 shows throughout the UK before retreating to their Croydon practice room to pen the follow-up. 'Affinity' comes only ten months after its predecessor yet the results are astonishing. Given the band’s relative youth, the maturity shown through their songwriting and musicianship is exceptional. Press To Meco have always possessed an ear for a huge riff and equally gargantuan three-part harmonies, but it would have been audacious to foresee the progression showcased in this forthcoming 5-track statement piece. Yet anyone familiar with Press to Meco knows not to second guess the next step, a fact reinforced by the themes on the EP: death of the elderly; indecent secrets; crystal methamphetamine; procrastination; mental illness and cannibalism. The subject matters apparently bleak agenda is intriguingly contrasted by their trademark uplifting melodies and watertight harmonies. But this is PTM in a nutshell, it would be easy to overlook the talent exhibited on each instrument and only hear great songs, yet for those who want to look deeper the rewards are there to be found. ‘Affinity’ single released 15 April ‘Affinity’ EP released 27 May
