Raging Speedhorn are a British sludge metal band from Corby in Northamptonshire who ran from 1998 to 2008 finishing off with farewell tours in the UK and Japan. They reformed in 2014 with original vocalist Frank Regan. Speedhorn was formed in 1998 from the merging of the bands Soulcellar and Box. Through a 'frightening' stage presence and heavy re-working of riffs reminiscent of Iron Monkey the band quickly established itself as a major presence within the UK's heavy metal scene. The band's first single "Thumper" (produced by industrial veteran Marc Heal) was released in 2000 to immediate critical acclaim. In 2001 they charted in the UK singles chart with "The Gush". Since then the band have become internationally recognised and have played with bands such as Biohazard, Ministry, Slipknot and Motorhead. The band released 4 Studio albums and have been on countless tours and played several festivals. Having announced their demise in mid 2008 the band did on one final tour of the UK with The Mirimar Disaster and Take A Worm For A Walk Week before their final tour dates in Japan.
