Reachback are a Pop/Punk four-piece band from Essex, that love nothing more than writing catchy little ditties with venomous bite and performing them to young audiences up and down the land. REACHBACK emerged late in 2008 with the coming together of three young artists with radically different styles and ideas…. A song-writing partnership between Tom McHenry (guitar) and Ruby Williams (vocals) blossomed, while striking, spiky-haired drummer Craig Chin gave an eye-catching style and energy to the emerging band.
The group struggled for a while to find a settled bassist, before turning to Ruby’s brother, Joe Williams, who swapped his professional golf clubs and football boots for a bass guitar and completed the all-star line up! 2009 was a busy year of learning and live development for the band, culminating in industry interest that earned them UK tour support slots with both “AttackAttack!” and “In Case Of Fire”. In January 2010, REACHBACK signed professional management terms and three months later were offered a publishing and recording deal with SMG Records. In May the band began work on recording their debut single “BUTTERFLIES” with producer Jason Wilcock, (‘YouMeAtSix’, ‘The Blackout’, ‘We Are The Ocean’) while also working with former Abbey Road Studios producer, James Horwood, on other future album tracks. 2010 has once again been a busy year of gigging for REACHBACK with recent highlights including support slots with the likes of UK Pop luminaries; “The View”, “New York Pony Club”, “The Automatic” and “British Sea Power” as well as some highly memorable headlining shows in East London and Essex. Runners up by a whisker on the last week of the 2010 Redbull Bedroom Jam competition, Reachback are seemingly a band on the UP… and they couldn’t be any happier!
