Remnant Psyche are an Electro project based in Southampton, UK. They produce leftfield electro-house, specializing in a unique organic sound. When compared to the clinical perfectionism of House music, Remnant Psyche continuously push the genre boundaries. With vague similarities to Mr Oizo, Gold Panda and even Hot Chip, Remnant Psyche add their own twist with inspiration from retro video-game scores and oriental cultures. Originally the brain child of ex-Rival Joustas drummer Morgan Hislop, the band has grown from strength to strength enlisting the production talent of Tom Chilton and the musical edge of Jimmie Chills. Having released their debut album "Technic Drake" independently as a four piece live electronica band in 2009, the group has since evolved into a three piece live DJ act. The most defining characteristic ability of Remnant Psyche's live set is incorporating live synths, samplers, and bringing a punk attitude to any club environment. Their sets are spontaneous and energetic as the trio perform original material back to back with remixed tracks. Remnant Psyche have played alongside such diverse acts as Crystal Castles, Scratch Perverts, HEALTH, Warp Records' Bibio, Neon Indian, Filthy Dukes, 65daysofstatic, UK hiphop artist Sway and Errors. Recently their relationship with London-based indie label Tape Club Records has grown, with Hislop becoming one of the label's resident DJs. Earlier this year Remnant Psyche were asked to remix Tape Club releases for both Dogtanion, Kerry Leatham and Peter Lyons. The 11th Oct 2010 saw the release of their remix for Dogtanion's single "Bastard Son which is available via Itunes and Amazon. This year, Remnant Psyche started hosting their own regular clubnight at Pop nightclub in Southampton. Entitled Rola Cola, the night showcased emerging electro and electronica artists and DJs. The night continues to go from strength to strength.
