Ricky Ross is the founder and lead singer of Scottish rock/pop group Deacon Blue. He formed the group in 1985 and they were soon after signed to CBS records. Deacon Blue have to date released five studio albums plus six compilation albums. After splitting up in 1994 they re-formed in 1999 and have since released new material and continue to tour when band members commitments allow. Ricky Ross released his first solo record 'So Long Ago' in 1984 on Scottish independent label Sticky Music. In 1996 he returned to his solo recording with an album entitled 'What You Are' on Epic Records. This was followed by 'New Recording' on his own Internazionale label in 1997, 'This Is The Life' on Papillon Records in 2002 and his latest offering 'Pale Rider' which was released by P3 Music in 2005. Ricky spends much of his time these days writing for and with other artists, most notably James Blunt, Ronan Keating, Gareth Gates, Emma Bunton and Cathy Burton.
