Robert Sunday is a musician with a unique outlook. The songs on his debut EP have a world weary sense of magic. Conjuring up a mythic, archaic world. Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Graves, and seafaring myth. Themes of exile and lost innocence recur in his work. This dystopian vision is filtered through the sounds of Lou Reed, Will Oldham, and the folk revival of the late sixties/early seventies. Joining him on the EP, he has the perfect foil in Jo, who records under the name Joseph Works. Working early mornings in a post room, Robert handles other people's words of false urgency. He lives out his real life in the afternoon and evening. Using his songs to escape. Often at odds with the modern world (he doesn't have a mobile phone, or watch television). His guitar and voice are a conduit to the other side. The Butterfly Hairslide EP will be released in March on Rif Mountain.
