Robin Garside is a well known Sheffield singer, songwriter and musician, he can turn his hand to Folk, Blues and Jazz with equal ease and plays, Guitar, Fiddle, Mandolin and Banjo. He plays solo, in The Rhythm Chaps Ceilidh Band and in the Sea Song group 'Monkey's Orphan'. He has played at most of the folk festivals in the UK and at several on the continent. He can be seen leading the Festival Orchestra at Whitby Folk Festival most years and is the musical arranger and leader of the Sheffield Traditional Fiddlers Society at the Red Deer in Pitt Street, Sheffield. He is a regular contributor to the thriving Sheffield Session scene and gigs in several local music pubs. Robin also teaches music at several summer schools around the country and has recently been involved in running songwriting sessions. Robin Garside is also an artist and art teacher, one of his paintings came second in the Best of Show at the Great Sheffield Art Show in 2011. He has included his paintings in many exhibitions and has had several one man shows.
