'Haunting', 'mesmeric', 'quirky', 'memorable', 'exceptional' and 'brilliant' have all been used to describe acoustic singer-songwriter Rosie Sleightholme, whose voice has been compared to the likes of Joan Baez, Dolores O'Riordan and Florence Welch. Classically trained in piano and cello and immersed in music from a young age, Rosie started writing songs as an Archaeology student at university. Performing regularly as a band cellist and doing occasional solo gigs following university, Rosie started gigging seriously as a solo artist in 2010, following a year of travelling around the world. It was during this year away singing, writing and performing songs in many different countries, that she gained the confidence to believe in her talent. Her aim is to write and record honest music from the heart that others can relate to, and she can be heard singing regularly at top music venues around London and further afield.
