In recent years there have been very few artists on the Hard House scene that can be linked to success as both DJ and Producer, but Ross Homson can do just that. It’s been a dream journey so far but if you ask the man himself or take note of the hype that surrounds him – this is only the beginning. Looking back to 2009 it would be hard to disagree that this Manchester based artist spent the year ripping up the floor with productions admired by many and with DJ sets that refused to not entice everyone onto the dancefloor. With a year of highlights behind him it’s now become a 2010 guarantee that when the name Homson appears on the tin, what’s inside is likely to be of very high quality. As a producer Ross features heavily in the wanted list from many of the big names. Farley, Stevens, Denton. JP & Jukesy are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to wanting fresh new material from this maestro and his signings to industry leading labels Toolbox & Fireball are a credit to this man’s studio abilities. His discography to date reads as a modern day list of classics, with the huge “Galvez Groove” sitting at the top of the pile. Other popular releases include “Moose Knuckle”, “Agent Disco”, “Run for Cover”, “Ferkin Merkin” and his Denton collaborated “Self Control”. It’s easy to see why Stevens and JP & Jukesy named Homson as their best newcomer of 2009, an accolade mirrored in the BT 2009 awards when Ross won best newcomer (DJ) and runner up as best newcomer (Producer). It’s no wonder he was asked to take over as label manager and head of A&R for Toolbox Choons in 2009, Ross Homson certainly has an ear for what people want to hear. His solid studio productions undoubtedly help keep his DJ sets fresh and unique to many of the other DJ’s on the circuit and his tight mixing and ability to program a set to perfection cement him as a name to pull in the crowds to any event regardless of size or profile. As well as his residencies at Coalition and Hook’d Ross enjoys a busy DJ schedule and amongst other club nights has already worked his magic at Twist, Frantic, Requiem, Parlez Vouz and Rave On. 2010 promises to be another year of highlights and Hard House thrills for this modern day hero and with bookings and repeat bookings flowing thick and fast it’s guaranteed it wont be long until you see this star shining at a club night near you.
