Rotary Club is the brainchild of NYC singer-songwriter-guitarist Tom Devaney who along with a gaggle of rotating musical comrades, including ex-Pere Ubu bassist Tony Maimone, have released two sparkling records of what rock review magazine The Big Takeover described as “Leadbelly, Charlie Patton, and Skip James joining the Band for Meat Puppets covers.” Both LPs, 2007's "Vis-a-vis" and 2011's "Second Year In Swine" were produced by Maimone at Studio G in Brooklyn. About Devaney's songs, Maimone once said, "It's got a Syd Barrett thing going on, but it's definitely American." Here's what others have had to say about Rotary Club: “Mere comparisons simply don’t, can’t, won’t do this justice. Believe me: this belongs on every new music-lovers must-have list.” The Noise (Boston) “Passionate…catchy and subtly quirky.” Time Out NY “This is one of the best records I’ve ever played on.” Tony Maimone
