Royal Gala are a nine piece band, comprising Huge brass hooks, big bass-lines, dirty, raw, soulful vocals and infectious rhythms. Having formed at the back end of 2007 and consisting of members from several top underground uk acts they have recently worked with Lost Vagueness, The Electric Picnic (Ireland), Brick Lane Festival (London) Drop Beats Not Bombs (Birmingham) Planet Angel (London) Pama International, Neville Staples of the Specials, Love Grocer (Zion Train) DJ Derek and Manchesters mighty Unabombers among others. Playing a genre defying cocktail of Dirty Funk, Ska, Reggae/Dub, Breakbeat, Balkan beat, Latin and Brass laden orchestral grooves the band are moving from strength to strength, writing, recording, gigging and generally having a ball!
