Scrubber Fox is also part of the local arts collective in Wigan working on new A/V art projects including a DIY multi-touch art piece and 3D visual mapping piece. Scrubber Fox has also been working with DJ Stuff to produce various art pieces and their previous work and seminars include DIY touch controllers, circuit bent A/V piece using retro games consoles and also a 3D A/V performance. Scrubber Fox and DJ Stuff are audiovisual artists and hardware bend-makers. Using home-built modifications and circuit-bending techniques, it is possible to take antiquated and obsolete electronic equipment such video game consoles (e.g. Megadrives, NES, Atari 2600) and turn them into AV engines, using the existing sound and graphic chips within them. Such hardware can then be utilised as an “instrument” for avant-garde music and visual generation.
