http://themmp.tv/reviews/2010/06/skunkadelic-musically-drifiting/ "My word. We are spoilt for quality hip-hop in Cardiff. Part of the Starving Artists stable, Tumi Williams – a.k.a. Skunkadelic – has constructed a smooth, utterly fresh record literally dripping with clean, deep-throated raps, vintage funk samples and fleshed out scratching. Exquisitely produced by some of the UK’s finest including Louis Vines, Blaktrix, Louis Boston and Mattamatix, Musically Drifting is as fun as a candyfloss bouncy castle. Though 18 tracks long and almost an hour, the LP rarely seems to drag benefiting from multiple collaborations that add vocal and sonic variations as well as occasional spoken word skits. Some of these are less effective than others with Who Is He Skit? being a slightly overindulgent, if self-deprecating, punctuation point to the funky flows. But when in top gear, as on the vacuum-packed retro soul of Back Where We Started, the irresistible Middle Eastern vibes of Time and the bustling Mudmowth assisted Rappers Paranoia, it is a mightily achieved vision.
