Sophie Scott is a17 year old singer/songwriter from Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Her acoustic mash ups on YouTube cleverly combine current songs with her own work to create a fast moving, captivating performance that have caught the attention of many viewers. She wrote her first song when she was 13 and soon after attended school in Australia for 10 weeks where she managed to progress technically with her guitar playing. At a young age she developed her voice through practise in her room as well as singing with other girls at school. By the age of 15 she had already successfully begun busking which she enjoyed up until a year ago when she decided she wanted to challenge herself further by performing for the first time solo at local open mic nights. Since then Sophie has been very busy and has now made a name for herself in Shropshire with her single ‘Say Something’ being BBC Radio Shropshire’s song of the month as well as gigging in and around Shropshire. Through BBC Introducing ‘Say Something’ was then picked up and played on BBC Radio 1 when Huw Stephens made it his BBC Introducing track of the week, as well as being put on a worldwide podcast and the BBC introducing blog. Currently working with top producers in London and Leeds as well as having played as a warm up act for Benjamin Francis Leftwich Sophie is set for big things. In Leeds Sophie works with Ollie Green producing upbeat acoustic pop while down in London Sophie has been busy co writing and starting work on an EP with a producer known as Stomp Beats. Juggling frequent trips to London with her A-levels in Shropshire, Sophie manages to stay focused and work dynamically on her music. Her new single ‘Get Out My Head’ (produced by Ollie Green) is now available on ITunes as well as her two other singles ‘Fade Away’ and ‘Say Something’.
