Neil Wardleworth – Guitar / Vocals
Laura Wilcockson – Fiddle / Vocals
Steel Threads are an original acoustic band performing their own unique blend of rock and folk.
Formed in 2011 the band comprises of Neil Wardleworth on guitar, bass drum and vocals,
and Laura Wilcockson on violin and vocals.
Influenced by the likes of Led Zeppelin, Crowded House, Fleetwood Mac and The Waterboys,
Steel Threads pride themselves on their strong songwriting and energetic performances.
The band’s debut album Timing Is Everything was released in June 2012 and the band has gigged throughout the UK, building a strong following ever since.
The strength of support is evidenced by the fact that For Those Who Are Left was pledge funded by fans and reached its target much more quickly than the band expected. This was released in October 2013 on CD, vinyl and mp3 download.
For Those Who Are Left, has been Mastered by Andy Jackson, who is best known for working with
Pink Floyd, Genesis, Roger Waters and David Gilmour.
Steel Threads have confirmed slots at among others The Acoustic Festival of Britain, Clennell Hall Folk Festival, Filey Folk Festival and Les-Fest, with many a real ale pub and venue on the route, along with some great support slots.
