My musical journey began in the summer of 1996 at age 37. I was given the task, by my then girlfriend, of swapping £600 from our savings for travellers cheques for our upcoming holiday. However, when I returned with £400 of travellers cheques and a brand new 5 string banjo (!) - I still to this day don’t know why - it changed my life, and very shortly after my relationship status. It did not go down well. A guitar eventually replaced the banjo and I also obtained a Martin Backpacker guitar, which would accompany me to work. As a taxi driver there was lots of time to practice between fares and lots of time to reflect, steeped in the imagery of the night time surroundings that provided lots of creative opportunity’s. I’m hoping 2009 will see me get of my arse and work hard on the local acoustic scene to promote my forthcoming album 'Songs From The Red Taxi'
