Subb-an, aka Ashique, was born in 87’ and hails from Birmingham, UK. Holding a residency at Birmingham’s respected ‘Below’ party, a night known for it’s ever inspiring atmosphere and finger firmly on the pulse, Subb- an has released on leading UK labels Leftroom, Hypercolour and Immigrant Records. His style ranges from lush deep house to edgier detroit influenced tech-house. 'The Corridors Of Life' EP was released in May 2008 and had support from Josh Wink, Loco Dice, Solomun, Jimpster and Soul Designer; his next vinyl installment 'Opiates EP', in March 2009, features a remix from John Tejada and will see the start of another good year for this breakthrough artist. Below’s line-ups have enabled Ash to grow as an artist, supporting the likes of Mobilee artists Anja Schneider, Sebo K and Ralf Kollmann, girl-wonder Dinky and the UK’s own Jamie Jones and Clive Henry. Appearances at London’s The End, T-bar and Technique in Leeds, have ensured that Ash’s talent has not been confined to the West Midlands. The 2008 release of Italia on Leftroom, having received accolades from M8, Mixmag, and IDJ, has gained support from some of the leading names in the industry, with his productions being played by Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Sasha, Paul Woolford and Luciano to name but a few. His exclusive signing to Immigrant Records will undoubtedly see this young and talented artist rise to the fore of the UK's underground house scene.
