Taymir makes authentic pop songs in the 60’s beat tradition, with the balls of the Arctic Monkeys and the edge of The Strokes. A few years ago, Quinten Meiresonne and Bas Prins started writing and performing '60’s pop songs' as 'The Consolers'. Within no time, they became a successful local band. They got an international record deal offered and played loads of great shows. However, The Consolers pulled the plug… “We had the feeling that we should make NEW music and we didn't want The Consolers to become kind of a 60’s gimmick”, says Quinten. 2013 is the year of new music. Taymir was born, with drummer Harrie Roelse and Mikkie B Wessels on guitar, everything fell into place. The experience of The Consolers and the new input of Harrie and Mikkie B together, makes Taymir’s no-nonsense Indie Pop songs. 2013 is the year of writing music and recording the Taymir's debut album, wich will bereleased in fall this year. To realize this dream, the ‘LITTLE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS’ campaign was brought to life. (www.taymir.nl) In the Little Help Store you can pre-order all kinds of things to support Taymir.
